Over the past twenty years, David
M. Levy has developed a diversified corporate
and commercial practice, specializing in litigation
and arbitration in those areas. As the head
of our Litigation Department, he has represented
public and private companies on a variety of
transactional and corporate matters, in addition
to litigation and dispute resolution. His practice
includes concentrations in the specialty areas
of business torts, labor and employment matters,
education law, real estate-related litigation,
securities litigation and corporate/partnership
break-ups. An experienced trial lawyer, Mr.
Levy has handled many corporate and commercial
matters ranging from the simple to the complex
in the federal and state courts, courts of other
jurisdictions and before various arbitration
panels, including the American Arbitration Association,
the New York Stock Exchange, the National Association
of Securities Dealers and the National Futures
Association. Mr. Levy is a standing member of
the American Bar Association, the New York State
Bar Association, the Association of the Bar
of the City of New York and of the American
Trial Lawyers Association, and has participated
as a panelist in New York Stock Exchange and
American Arbitration Association arbitrations.
David M. Levy received a Bachelors
of Arts degree with High Honors from the University
of Florida in 1977, and was elected to Phi Beta
Kappa upon graduation. He received a Masters
of Arts Degree in comparative jurisprudence
from the State University of New York at Albany
in 1978 and a Juris Doctor degree with High
Distinction from The John Marshall Law School
in Chicago in 1981, where he served as Executive
Editor of the Law Review. During his last year
in law school, Mr. Levy served as the student
law clerk to the Honorable Marvin E. Aspen,
United States District Judge for the Northern
District of Illinois. Mr. Levy was admitted
to the Illinois Bar in 1981 and the New York
Bar in 1982. He is also admitted to practice
before the United States District Courts for
the Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts
of New York and the Northern Districts of Illinois,
the United States Court of Appeals for the Second
and Seventh Circuits and the United States Tax
Courts.
